Good Delivery & Installation

One of the most overlooked and underrated aspects to buying a hot tub is delivery and installation. A hot tub is not a simple "drop it off and leave" kind of item. Though some manufacturers offer to deliver the hot tub to your home without actually placing it in your desired location, this is strongly discouraged. A hot tub is a heavy and cumbersome item and can be difficult to handle. It is imperative that a trained team deliver and install the hot tub to ensure that it will be handled properly during this process. You may want to check with your manufacturer to be sure that a professionally trained delivery team will be sent for this important procedure.

Delivery
If a site inspection was done initially, all delivery issues should have already been addressed. If not, the delivery team should check for trees or overhead power lines that could be in the way. They will also need to evaluate all access ways. In addition, the delivery team will need to be aware of areas of soft grass and septic tank placement if a large delivery truck is to be used for the delivery.

Installation
The delivery team should check that the area for your hot tub is a flat, level surface. They will also check the sturdiness of your structure for support, as well as provide proper ventilation for the hot tub. Once the hot tub is installed, the delivery team should then educate you and your family on hot tub care and maintenance, operation, and spa features. Keep in mind that when your new hot tub is delivered, the excitement level will be high, and often times as a result, you will not remember all of the details of the hot tub education that you received. Therefore, it is important to ask if a technician will return in a few weeks to refresh your memory. This also presents a great time to be able to ask more in depth questions about your hot tub, now that you will have had ample time to familiarize yourself with it. Though not all retailers offer this chance for a secondary hot tub education, we highly recommend it.
